Gigi Harney

Principal Communications Strategist-Creative

Bio

Gigi Harney is a principal communications strategist of creative at the ACLU of Northern California. She serves as the managing editor of the ACLU News, the ACLU NorCal’s membership newsletter. As the organization’s in-house creative director, she oversees the visual messaging of materials ranging from donor communications to Know Your Rights publications. She is also the organization’s publications archivist and managed the archiving of ACLU NorCal’s historical newsletters from 1936 to the present day.

Gigi combines her background in graphic design and public policy for her work at ACLU NorCal. An award-winning writer and photographer, she holds an M.A. in political science with an emphasis in social policy, and certificates in both transatlantic studies and graphic design.

In her spare time, you’ll find her experimenting with new recipes or reading a good book in her backyard garden.
