California's 2026 General Election is Tuesday, November 3. Get ready to vote and vote early!

Voting Plan Checklist

☑ Register to vote:

Register now or check your registration to make sure your address and language preferences are up to date.

The last day to register online or by mail for the 2026 general election is October 19, 2026. You can also use California's in-person, same-day voter registration system (also called conditional voter registration) to register to vote at any time until the polls close at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day at all county elections offices, polling places, and vote centers.

The 2026 General Election is November 3, 2026. All voters with an active registration will be automatically mailed a ballot before each election. Vote early! Learn about all the ways to cast your ballot by mail and in person in our Know Your Rights guide.

Prop 39 Fast Facts

California's elections are secure. Prop 39, the voter ID initiative on the November 2026 ballot, would require voters to show government-issued ID every time they vote — creating privacy risks, barriers for eligible voters, ballot rejections, and targeting communities that already face obstacles to voting. All this to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Vote NO on Prop 39.
